Our Experience
Below are examples of some of the many projects undertaken by SEP:
• 2004-5 – Azerbaijan, Georgia & Turkey
Acting as agent for a major oil industry project, SEP procured a large quantity of oil spill response and support equipment including off-road vehicles and marine craft. SEP’s tasks included tendering, selection, inspection, and shipping of the equipment to the Caspian region.
• 1975 through 2005 - Alaska, USA
SEP personnel provided most of the response equipment and training during the construction and start up of the Alyeska pipeline in the mid-1970’s. Through the years following start up, SEP personnel have provided the pipeline operating company with significant quantities of oil containment boom, recovery systems, updated training, spare parts and new products as necessary.
• 2003 - Nassau, Bahamas
SEP designed, delivered, and built on site a custom permanent oil barrier boom to protect the resident dolphin population. SEP activities also included maintenance and initial responder training.
• 2001 - Louisiana & Texas, USA
SEP provided oil pollution control equipment and training for 21 US Ready Reserve Fleet vessels stationed in the US, Guam and the Indian Ocean. This project involved SEP in the design of the spill control packages, the commissioning of the equipment on site and the training of the ships’ crews and shore-based personnel in the use of the equipment. SEP also provided digital training media for each vessel.
• 2000-2003 - Warri & Port Harcort, Nigeria
As part of a 3-year contract, SEP provided oil spill control equipment and training to a major oil company in Nigeria. The project included the supply of an oil containment boom (3 kilometres), oil skimmers, temporary liquid storage units and oil sorbent materials.
• 1999 - Istanbul, Turkey
SEP provided oil skimming equipment packages and towable tanks to the Turkish maritime authorities for the protection of the Turkish Straits and coastal waters. Also provided was on-site commissioning and training after the goods were delivered and accepted by the client.
• 1994 – China
SEP performed annual training services for oil spill clean-up and in-situ burning of oil on water. SEP provided the client with 300m of offshore fire proof containment boom along with annual training of the client’s personnel, partners and contractors.
